General Questions

How does Greensboro Pride ensure a safe and inclusive environment?

Anti-Harassment, Discrimination, and Safety Policy

Greensboro Pride is committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for everyone attending or participating in the Greensboro Pride Parade & Festival. Harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior of any kind will not be tolerated at any parade or festival activity.

Prohibited Behavior

Harassment: Slurs, hate speech, intimidation, threats, unwanted touching, or other unwelcome conduct.
Discrimination: Any behavior that demeans or excludes someone based on race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, age, ability, or body size.
Disruption: Actions that interfere with parade operations, performances, vendors, programming, or others’ ability to enjoy the event.
Violence or Threats: Physical aggression, threatening conduct, or possession of weapons.
Substance Abuse: Public intoxication, illegal drug use, or distribution of controlled substances.

Safety and Enforcement

Visible Security: Greensboro Police Department officers and licensed private protective services will be present throughout the parade route, staging areas, and festival grounds.

Agreement

By attending the Greensboro Pride Parade & Festival, you agree to help maintain a safe, inclusive, and joyful celebration for all.

Is the Greensboro Pride Festival accessible?

We are committed to ensuring that all of our events are accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. At the festival, ASL interpreters will be available for all performances, and all areas will be designed to accommodate wheelchair and mobility device access. We are also actively working to provide additional accessibility features to meet the needs of our community. More detailed accessibility information will be shared soon.

Why We Celebrate in the Fall

Unlike many Pride events across the U.S. held in June, Greensboro Pride takes place in the fall, a conscious decision rooted in both strategy and care: The Piedmont Triad is home to several colleges and universities, and hosting in the fall ensures maximum student and community participation. It also helps avoid the often oppressive North Carolina summer heat, creating a safer, more enjoyable experience for all attendees.

What’s the difference between IMPAQT GSO and Greensboro Pride?

Think of IMPAQT GSO as the parent of Greensboro Pride. They’re part of the same family, IMPAQT GSO organizes and powers Greensboro Pride, along with all the year-round events that bring our community together. So really, there’s no difference… just different outfits.

How can my organization or business plan an event with or for IMPAQT GSO?

If you're interested in planning an event with IMPAQT GSO, please reach out to info@greensboropride.org. While we are a small, volunteer-led team, we welcome ideas and will make every effort to explore meaningful partnership opportunities. We’re always open to discussing possibilities that align with our mission.

How are funds raised by IMPAQT GSO used to support the community?

IMPAQT GSO is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with fully transparent funding, our Form 990s are public, and all proceeds support community events, including our annual programming and headline event, the Greensboro Pride Festival.

What is the best way to reach someone with Greensboro Pride?

We are an all-volunteer organization. Please email us at info@greensboropride.org.

Can I bring my pets?

Due to liability concerns, pets are not allowed at the Greensboro Pride Festival.

Where can I park?

We recommend attendees use any City of Greensboro–owned parking decks near the festival. The closest decks to the Pride footprint are:

  • Tanger Center Deck – 300 N. Elm Street ($10.00)
  • Davie Street Deck – 229 E. Friendly Avenue ($10.00)
  • Eugene Street Deck – 215 N. Eugene Street ($10.00)
  • February One Place Deck – 110 S. Davie Street ($10.00)
  • Greene Street Deck – 211 S. Greene Street ($10.00)

Please note: The Church Street Deck will be CLOSED during Pride.

Additional parking is available further from the festival site, but the decks listed above are the closest and most convenient options. Visit the City of Greensboro's Downtown Parking site here

The Greensboro Marriott deck is also open to the public (hourly rates apply, max $18/day after 5 hours), but space is limited due to a large hotel event. Hotel guests have priority, so please arrive early or consider using alternative decks.

Is the Greensboro Pride Festival free?

The Greensboro Pride Parade& Festival is 100% free to attend, and we welcome everyone in the community to join us. While general admission is free thanks to our incredible sponsors and community partners, we do offer a limited number of ticketed experiences, including the Entertainer Meet and Greet and exclusive VIP access.
